Eid Tea Party – A Success

Alhamdulilah, on Saturday 16th of July, Masjid Abu Bakr and AlMuhsināt were pleased to jointly host an Eid tea party for sisters at St Mary’s Welcome Centre.

We would like to thank Ustadha Zaheda and her team of volunteers, all the volunteers who prepared delightful light snacks, and guests who helped us invite many non-Muslims for making this event a success. In particular, we would like to extend our thanks to Vicar Vanessa and Councillor Clare Coghill who delivered short speeches alongside Ustadha Bint Ahmad, all of whom spoke of building bridges between the Muslims and the wider community.

Guests left anonymous voluntary feedback. We leave you with some of these below.

“Really lovely and welcoming, bringing people together – regardless of race, culture or religion. (sense of community) Would come to another event like this again!!”

“Thank you for making it such a welcome atmosphere … especially in these times of uncertainty throughout the world!”

“Lovely event; great unified atmosphere in tumultuous times.”

“Lovely regular activities and quiz made the ice break easily – felt very at home!! Well done.”
